Does My Eye Prescription Change? in Annapolis & Kent Island

Request Appointment
Your eye prescription can change from childhood to adulthood and how often your prescription changes depends on several factors.

People with 20/20 vision have normal visual clarity of acuity at a distance of 20 feet. However, this does not mean someone with 20/20 vision has perfect vision, simply that they can see clearly at a distance. Vision also measures color, focusing ability, peripheral vision, depth of perception and eye coordination.

Your eyes change naturally and grow along with your body. Your vision prescription can change every year or every few years and can be due to natural age-related changes. Sudden changes, however, are not normal. If you’re experiencing changes in your vision, it’s important to make an appointment for a comprehensive eye exam.
