As 2021 comes to a close, we’re looking forward to 2022, and counting down some important resolutions you can make in regards to your eye health!
1. Wear sunglasses daily! From January 1st through December 31st, your eyes need protection from UV rays that can cause sun damage.2. Embrace a diet for your eyes! Cold-water fish, leafy greens, whole grains, and citrus fruits can help prevent diseases, such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration, due to their omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins.
3. Get to know your family’s eye health history. Many eye diseases and conditions have a genetic component. Share your family’s eye history with us to help catch any potential signs of early disease, when treatment is most effective!
4. Follow the 20/20/20 rule. With screen time on tablets, phones, and computers, it’s important to give your eyes a break every 20 minutes by looking at something 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds.
